Kansas City Newborn Photography
Newborn Jacob
Sweet Jacob came in to the studio last week. I was wanting to play around with my lighting setup because I wasn’t so sure I was in love with the PLM system I had purchased from Paul C Buff, or at least more in love with it than I was with the old umbrella diffuser I had used for several years before upgrading. After testing them both side-by-side; however, I could definitely tell a huge difference and my newer umbrella was so much better. I was happy that I took the time to see the difference.
More to come on the outcome and images of the side by sides later, but for now I wanted to share a few images from his session that I captured in just about a ten minute span. I believe these images show how much versatility I can get out of one simple pose in a very short amount of time.
This is usually the last of my poses that I do on the posing table. It is called the huckfin pose where baby is on the back and their feet/legs are curled up.
I always grab a few different angles of this one pose because I love how it shows their tiny little hands and feet. The light gives such dimension on the facial features.
This is still the same basic huckfin pose, but I simply moved his hands above his head. I move slow and easy and keep my hands on his arms until he is completely relaxed again.
Again, I can capture different angles of this same exact pose. Each time the lighting angle changes and gives a great variety and dimension.
This pose is also great to get closeups of feet and hands! I wrapped up his feet in a knit wrap to get this closeup of his toes.
This one of my favorite angles, especially when baby has great hair!
