Mia was amazing for her newborn baby photo session! And I’m not sure I can really call her a newborn as she was close to 2 months old when she came in to the studio. She slept pretty well for me, but also was extremely content and happy for some awake shots.

We started out on the table and I did attempt froggy pose, but being she was older and a bit more alert, she wasn’t going to have it. So we settle for chin on hands, side lying and huck-finn (wrapped on her back).

Can’t forget the sweet details of baby toes and feet!

There are many ways to get a variety of images out of just 1 pose by focusing on details and different angles

This sweet girl had a knack for making me believe she was asleep but then would surprise me with some open eyes!

But then moments later, she’d be asleep again. Sooooo adorable and such a photographer’s dream! I really believe she was modeling for me and she knew it, lol.

This next series will prove that little Mia will be a model one day. The next 8 images of Mia wrapped in the pink wrap with the cream fur were taken over a span of only 98 seconds.

We’ll start out with an awake, alert and content baby.

Big yawn, she’s starting to get sleepy.

But still very happy and alert.

Yep, she’s not going to sleep anytime soon.

Wait a minute… she’s decided to indeed fall asleep. It was a toasty 80+ degrees in my studio. She’s wrapped up and snuggled in and my shushing white noise machine is playing. It’s hard for any baby to resist a good nap during their photo shoot.

While she sleeps, I move around to get different angles.

Oh, but here come those eyes again!

Mia, you are too cute and you are a dream to photograph! There’s that sweet little smile again.

I handed her back to her mama as I prepped the next set up in the bed on the wood floors. We swapped the pink wrap for a cream one which made for a gorgeous prop set.
